Issue #2

Thanks for Everything, ACL!

We at Leap of Joy would like to thank everyone who visited us at our booth at ACL. We had such a good time!

Our booth was located in Austin Kiddie Limits, alongside Austin Allies, who were making egg shakers. We had lots of kids come and color masks with us. We gave away a ton of bracelets. Our volunteers had a lot of fun and loved meeting so many new faces. We hope to see everyone soon!

We're very excited about our next event, Let It Go, taking place on November 10th. It's a great place to start your holiday shopping! We'll have all sorts of new items to purchase, from beads to clothing, accessories, and gifts for the whole family...all you have to do is fill up a bag of whatever you want, starting at $5 and up!

A Note from Our Director

Hi Everyone:

Well, it is so nice to have ACL behind us. We made a lot of masks and gave away a lot of Leap of Joy bracelets and got some emails to add to our newsletter list.  So on we go.

Special thanks to Madeleine and Michele for their help. Clay especially.

Next up: Let It Go. I designed jewelry and was in the retail business for decades of my life doing shows like ACL and Armadillo Christmas Bazaar. I have amassed a significant amount of everything, and now it is time to let it go. Everything is new or unused. I do have some gorgeous Indian dresses that were donated. Too big for our kids. Excellent condition. Lots of clothing, jewelry, and a beader's dream with every kind of bead. There's an accumulation of semi precious and costume jewelry, bags and accessories, folk art, kids' dance shoes and costumes, ornaments and gift items. Special fill bags just for kids with toys and games, face painting, treats and more.

Fill a bag for $5 and up. You can't help but be overjoyed at the bargains! Lots of cool stuff and an early start on holiday shopping.

Delicious food provided by Stubbs. Some of our kids will perform and there will be No Kids DJ spinning discs.

We will need help. So volunteer if you can.  Schedule link will be tomorrow.

Proceeds will go to our Cap & Mitten campaign that we started a few years back. Kids will receive caps, mittens, socks and a small gift.

Incidentally, we are so happy to welcome our new intern, Michael Martin on board. He sure is a great help!

I wish everyone well.  Please let us know if you can help.
Volunteers Needed!

We're looking for volunteers for our Let It Go event! If you're available on Nov 10th to help with setting up, working as a cashier, painting faces, working the tables, we will take anyone who is willing to help! Please contact Judy at [email protected] if you'd like to help.
Can't make it to Let It Go? Consider making a donation! Leap of Joy is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing performing arts to at-risk youth in Austin. No gift is too small!
